We recently returned from a week at the Palacio del Bailio which surpassed our expectations! The hotel is a beautiful mix of the old and the ultra modern and has been tastefully renovated using quality materials and fixtures. No surprise that this hotel has won awards!

The real stars, however, are the staff who truly made our stay memorable; they are welcoming and friendly, cannot do enough to help and advise and the service is always with a smile. We would especially like to thank and recommend Joey and Patricia at the reception, Jorge, Alessandra, Cristina from the restaurant, as well as the housekeeping staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. From the moment we arrived we felt at home!

The food is delicious in the restaurant and also in the tapas bar where we had the chance to sample many delicacies as well as discover some fabulous Spanish organic wines.

We would recommend this lovely haven of peace and tranquility to anyone looking for a home from home and who appreciates excellent service from staff who genuinely enjoy making their guests happy! Thank You!

! We actually stayed here for two nights on our honeymoon in May. Best value for money of any of the hotels we stayed in and it was by far the most beautiful (and newest which meant it is still in great condition). The pool area is amazing . . . we didn't want to leave. More eye candy on the hotel's web site. That reading room/library (the fifth picture above) will make your jaw drop. . . just stunning.

We would go back to Cordoba anytime, just to spend more time at this hotel. It is a total experience that's absolutely perfect. From the welcoming staff who takes time to give you a tour of the place, to the great banos, the garden-orangeraie and the pool to the restaurant and the fantastic way the palacio was restored in a modern and respectful way. We loved everything about it. The inspiracion menu for dinner was fantastic and quite cheap considering the experience.

My wife and I really love this hotel. It has a really nice garden in the courtyard. The size of the room was decent for European standard. It was clean and nicely decorated. The breakfast (included) was wonderful - an assortment of fresh breads, cheese, cured meat and fruits etc. The dining room sits on top of a Roman ruin and has a glass floor so that you can see the stuff underneath. The hotel is not as close to the Mezquita as some of the other ones, but it is only a pleasant 15 minute walk away. Price is on the high side for Cordoba, and I think it is worth every penny.

Worth every penny!

This hotel was my absolute favorite during our recent stay in Spain. Whilst not the cheapest, it was easily a winner in every category and consequently worth every penny.

The hotel is in the old part of the city about 2 minutes walk from Plaza de las Tendilas and about 5 - 10 from the Mezquita. If you are arriving by car, Calle de Alfonso XIII is currently closed (road works), so you should use Calle Claudio Marcello & Calle de Maria Cristina and look CAREFULLY for the small yellow signs for the hotel.

The hotel has struck a wonderful balance between the old and the new. The building(s) sit atop a magnificent archeological ruin dating to the Roman era. The dining room floor is transparent and lit from below. At night you can gaze down to the floor one story below which consists of the largest intact example of Roman mosaic.

The rooms and facilities themselves feature modern fitting and fixtures throughout, all with clean minimalistic architecture lines. The result is very pleasing. Our room (a double) was spacious and had a small patio.

There is outdoor dining in a courtyard near the lobby & also by the endless (outdoor) pool. Included with our stay was use of the Roman baths in the SPA.

The staff were fantastic. Check in could not have been easier. We had dinner at the restaurant which came to approx 90 euros for two (without alcohol). The food was simply delicious and presentation was top notch.

Breakfast is approx. 19 euros / per person. We opted to walk over to Cafe Gloria on Calle Claudio Marcello and grab a continental breakfast for 4-5 euros each.

The hotel has free & open wifi access. Also it has a computer off the lobby for the use of it's guests. In addition, there is a full service SPA. Parking is approx. 17 euros a day and the valet requires a half hour notice before you need your vehicle in order to retrieve it.

I would highly recommend a stay here.

One note, I would recommend giving yourself a couple of extra minutes for the check out process as the hotel does both check in/check out at the same time. They would be well served to stagger the process as I'm sure those needing to get to their next destination by a certain time do not want to be kept waiting too long whilst new arrivals are checked in.

Exquis!

Just a short message from me to thank you and your colleagues for making my stay at your beautiful Palacio so comfortable and enjoyable. My visit will remain as a long-lasting memory - it was just what I needed after a very busy few months here in London.
