Hospes Palacio de los Patos embraces a new era through contemporary design and heritage appreciation
Granada, May 2025 – Hospes Palacio de los Patos is entering the final phase of its comprehensive renovation project, redefining the historical building’s interiors with a contemporary and emotional approach. Following the complete transformation of the Alabastro Building, the spotlight now turns to the original 19th-century Palace. This final stage is led by the creative duo Bárbara Chapartegui and Álex Briones, who are shaping a new visual identity for this iconic destination in the heart of Granada.
At Hospes, design is not a decorative element—it is an expression of values. It is a way to communicate the unique spirit of each location, to enhance well-being, and to create spaces that engage with local heritage while offering modern sophistication. The remodeling of Palacio de los Patos fully embodies this philosophy, blending timeless elegance with an innovative sense of place.

A contemporary take on historical grandeur
The concept by Bárbara Chapartegui and Álex Briones carefully respects the architectural essence of the palace, while introducing natural materials, custom-made furniture, refined textures, and striking decorative features. The guest rooms and suites are being transformed into immersive spaces, where handcrafted elements, sculptural details, and a warm lighting scheme create a serene and inspiring atmosphere.
Design highlights include upholstered headboards with artistic reliefs, built-in minibars, sculptural mirrors, curated artwork, and bespoke lighting pieces. The color palette focuses on soft earth tones and organic textures, drawing a clear connection between history and contemporary comfort.
