Fondillón Restaurant Triumphs in the Macarfi Guide 2025 and Ranks Among the Top Restaurants in the Valencian Community

By | 25 September, 2025 | 0 comments

In its tenth edition, the Macarfi Guide 2025 has expanded its geographical scope by including the Valencian Community in its selection of top restaurants for the first time. Among the distinguished entries is Fondillón Restaurant, located in the heart of Alicante and part of the Hotel Hospes Amérigo.

This recognition coincides with a special milestone: in just a few months, the restaurant will celebrate its tenth anniversary, firmly establishing itself as a culinary reference point for both locals and visitors to the city.

A Decade of Gastronomic Excellence

Since its opening, Fondillón has embraced the challenge of living up to the standards of the luxury hotel chain it belongs to, while carving out its own place in Alicante’s demanding gastronomic scene, internationally renowned for its quality rice dishes and Mediterranean ingredients.

Under the culinary direction of Chef Javier Tortosa, a native of Villena, the restaurant is committed to seasonal Mediterranean cuisine, with a strong focus on local and regional products. Its rice dishes have become a hallmark and an essential stop for lovers of fine dining.

Recognition from the Macarfi Guide

“A restaurant that stands out for its excellent cuisine and outstanding service,” says Miguel Ángel López, director of the Macarfi Guide for the Valencian Community and the Region of Murcia. “Kitchen and front-of-house work as one — more than a team, they’re a family that welcomes diners as true hosts. These are the details that make this culinary experience truly special,” he adds.

Beyond Gastronomy

Hotel Hospes Amérigo enhances its culinary offering with experiences that go beyond the plate, such as the popular Sunday Brunch & Jazz, Thursday flamenco nights, the rooftop with music, cocktails, and views of Santa Bárbara Castle, as well as its daily Rice Menu. The restaurant also boasts a terrace on the iconic Calle Mayor, a historic setting that adds extra charm to the experience.

The Macarfi Guide’s recommendation confirms that Fondillón Restaurant is here to stay, establishing itself as one of the great ambassadors of Alicante’s cuisine.

Congratulations to the entire team and thanks to everyone who makes this project possible every single day.
