Santa Barbara Castle receives recognition from the Confederation of Official Tourist Guides of Spain

The city of Alicante receives a plaque of special recognition to the Castle of Santa Barbara as a tourist and historical landmark by CEFAPIT, National Confederation of Guides Spain.
The Castle of Santa Barbara has become, over time, one of the most emblematic buildings of the Costa Blanca. It is a fortress that can be found on Mount Benacantil, that is, an imposing rocky elevation that offers exceptional views of the bay of Alicante.

On its slopes have been found archaeological remains from the Bronze Age, Iberian and Roman times, although the origin of the current fortress must be sought in the late ninth century when the Muslim domination.

We encourage you to visit this emblematic place, to walk through its space, to disconnect and enjoy this special monument.

The roof terrace of the Hotel Hospes Amérigo is a unique space with the best views of the city: the historic center and the Castle of Santa Barbara. In addition, the Hotel is located very close to two of the most emblematic monumental buildings of Alicante: the City Hall and the Co-cathedral of San Nicolas.

The roof terrace of the Hotel Hospes Amérigo offers unique views from which you can admire the beauty of the Castle. You can enjoy the rooftop while staying at the hotel or not, as the terrace is open to the public. During the day, the bar is open and offers a table area where you can have a light meal and a drink. The terrace offers comfortable sunbeds and a solarium area.

From 20:00 the hammock area is dismantled and is set up with tables and chairs, also with high tables and stools to enjoy the views of the Castle of Santa Barbara and the Concathedral with a good cocktail.

If you are staying at the hotel, the terrace is the perfect place to have lunch and enjoy the wonderful views. Its menu for guests offers a wide variety of options, from a gourmet selection such as Thai lamb pan bao cooked at low temperature, Black Angus burger, crispy prawns with sweet chili sauce or lacquered lamb with candied shallots to more classic options such as Iberian products, selection of cheeses, croquettes, salads, meats and fish.

The terrace also has a swimming pool, which can be accessed with the entrance to the Spa and hotel guests.

The opening hours of the Terrace Bar are daily from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 a.m. from Sunday to Thursday, Fridays and Saturdays closes at 02:00 h.
