Hospes Hotels in the MICHELIN Guide 2026: a way to discover Spain from within

Hospes is again part of the MICHELIN Guide universe in 2026 with a selection of hotels that share the same philosophy: turning each stay into an authentic way to discover the destination.

There are hotels where you simply sleep. And there are hotels that make the journey start the moment you cross their door.

At Hospes, we believe in the latter.

The presence of various Hospes hotels in the MICHELIN Guide selection reflects a way of understanding hospitality based on the personality of each building, its connection to the destination, design, service, and the authenticity of the experience.

Because for us, true luxury does not only consist of sleeping well. It consists of feeling like part of the place.

Hospes and the MICHELIN Guide: hotels with their own identity

The MICHELIN Guide hotel selection seeks much more than luxury establishments. Its inspectors evaluate five universal criteria: connection to the destination, excellence in architecture and design, quality of service, authenticity, character of the place, and value for money.

These criteria directly connect with the essence of Hospes.

Our collection includes unique hotels located in historic buildings and privileged locations in Spain, where architecture, heritage, contemporary design, and local culture coexist to create different experiences in each destination.

And that diversity is also reflected in the MICHELIN selection.

From Cordoba to Mallorca: different destinations, the same philosophy

Among the Hospes hotels present in the MICHELIN Guide selection, we find destinations as diverse as Madrid, Seville, Cordoba, Granada, Alicante, Valencia, or Mallorca.

Hospes Palacio del Bailío: A MICHELIN Key in Cordoba

In the historic heart of Cordoba, Hospes Palacio del Bailío exemplifies this philosophy particularly well.

The former palace combines heritage, architecture, art, and contemporary hospitality. Among its most unique elements are the remains of a Roman villa, traditional courtyards, and Roman baths integrated into its wellness experience.

In the 2026 edition of the MICHELIN Guide, the hotel has renewed A MICHELIN Key, coinciding with a new stage after its recent renovation. The intervention has especially highlighted historical elements of the building, such as the frescoes and the original architecture of the Grand Captain Presidential Suite.

A MICHELIN Key that precisely recognizes what makes the Bailío Palace unique: the opportunity to experience Cordoba from within.

Hospes Palacio de los Patos: history and design in Granada

In Granada, Hospes Palacio de los Patos takes this combination of heritage and contemporaneity to another setting.

The hotel occupies a 19th-century palace to which a contemporary architecture extension was added. Both languages coexist in the same space, from the rooms of the historic building to the more modern aesthetic spaces.

The MICHELIN Guide itself highlights its architecture, design, tranquility, and the quality of its spaces and services.

It is, ultimately, a way to approach Granada that starts long before heading out to discover the Alhambra.

Hospes Amérigo: Alicante from a former convent

Modern lobby with white sofas, plants, and illuminated wooden shelves

In Alicante, Hospes Amérigo occupies a former Dominican convent converted into a hotel.

Its historic architecture, Mediterranean-inspired interiors, and location in the historic center allow combining rest, culture, and city in the same experience.

The MICHELIN Guide currently includes it in its hotel selection and describes its proposal as an example of boutique luxury linked to the identity of Hospes.

Hospes Palau de la Mar: reinterpreted Valencian heritage

Modern room with bed, padded headboard, and white curtains

In Valencia, Hospes Palau de la Mar emerges from the union of two 19th-century palaces.

After a comprehensive renovation, the hotel blends the historic character of its buildings with contemporary interiors and a wellness proposal that includes a spa, sauna, steam bath, and pool.

Its location also allows easy access to two of Valencia’s main attractions: the historic center and the contemporary architecture of the City of Arts and Sciences.

Gran Hotel Maricel: the Mediterranean as an experience

In Mallorca, Gran Hotel Maricel brings the Hospes philosophy to the Mediterranean.

Located by the sea, near Palma, the hotel occupies a former residential building that retains much of its original character. Its architecture and direct connection to the Mediterranean landscape make the environment an essential part of the experience.

It is also part of the MICHELIN Guide hotel selection.

Hospes Puerta de Alcalá: art and design in Madrid

In Madrid, Hospes Puerta de Alcalá offers a stay where art and design play a leading role.

The 19th-century building that houses the hotel serves as a setting for a contemporary interpretation of luxury, with sober interiors, designer pieces, and spaces designed for aesthetics to be part of the experience. The MICHELIN Guide precisely highlights the combination of the building’s classic architecture and its contemporary luxury interiors.

The 41 rooms and suites maintain this same line, with a refined decoration where furniture, lighting, and materials take on special importance. The set is complemented by Malvar Restaurant and the Bodyna spa, two spaces that extend the experience beyond the room.

A proposal especially linked to those who see travel as a way to approach art, architecture, and design of a city.

Hospes Las Casas del Rey de Baeza: the essence of a Sevillian house

Andalusian patio with cobblestone patio, green trees, and white houses with roofs

In Seville, Hospes Las Casas del Rey de Baeza invites you to experience the city from inside an authentic 18th-century Sevillian house.

The hotel is articulated around two central courtyards, which provide light, calm, and a constant connection with traditional architecture. In contrast, the rooms incorporate contemporary lines, creating a natural dialogue between the essence of the house and a modern way of understanding hospitality.

The experience continues on the rooftop, with a small pool and terrace where you can admire the rooftops of Seville, while the restaurant offers a contemporary interpretation of Andalusian cuisine.

The Guide highlights precisely this combination of traditional house, contemporary design, courtyards, and tranquility, a way to discover the Sevillian character without leaving the hotel.

Five criteria. One way of understanding luxury.

The MICHELIN Guide hotel selection is based on five criteria that help explain why certain hotels become destinations in themselves:

  1. Connection to the destination
Hotels that tell something about the place they are in.
  2. Architecture and design
Buildings and spaces that can turn the stay into an aesthetic experience.
  3. Quality of service
    Attentive, coherent, and personalized hospitality.
  4. Authenticity and character
Hotels with their own personality, away from interchangeable experiences.
  5. Value for money
An experience that must strike a balance between what it offers and its cost.

These five principles also explain an essential part of what it means to be Hospes.

More than just a hotel: a gateway to the destination

The 2026 edition of the MICHELIN Guide includes 122 Spanish hotels distinguished with MICHELIN Keys, of which 100 have one key, 17 have two, and 5 have three. Within this panorama, Hospes especially celebrates the renewal of the Key for Hospes Palacio del Bailío and, at the same time, the presence of various hotels from the collection in the MICHELIN Guide hotel selection.

For us, the most important recognition is precisely that: that our hotels can make the traveler want to stay a little longer, look a little more, and discover a little more.

Because every destination has an essence. And every Hospes hotel is a way to experience it from within.
