Circo: Photographic exhibition at the Tapas Bar of Hospes Palacio del Bailío

30Enjoy this exhibition by artist Victoria Adame until July 31, from 11:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
There is something magical in the equalized lines of the circus tent that cut the sky, in the tense strings that hold it to the ground, in the lights that every night warn that the show is about to begin. In each evening, the rehearsed and trained scenes and pieces are repeated session after session, unalterable, but they are never the same because every illusion, every cry, fright or laughter provoked in the viewer makes it a unique, different, magical event.

When the lights have gone out and the spectators are in their homes, the routine of the day to day possesses the spirit of the circus until the next show.

A routine where the characters become people of flesh and blood. But how is that routine? What is the daily life of a clown, a tightrope walker, the son of a circus worker?

D21iscipline, work, overcoming, illusion, passion.
Discipline, effort, frustration, fear
Discipline, routine, training, adrenaline.
Discipline, exhaustion, sleep, wounds.
Discipline, in the end, everything is reduced to discipline.

This work could well be the catharsis of those who do not have hours in the day to do everything they want, or maybe Adame wants to invite us to travel to the antipodes of “Myopia” and allows us this time to see more, beyond what that we see at a glance, beyond what we could imagine. Or maybe everything is simpler and born of curiosity or the need to tell us what you see, what you live and what you feel. In any case, it encourages us to reflect, to take a seat, to lower the lights and enjoy the show,

Chema Sanmoran.
